Episode 419 - Grace Period

Remember agent Cassidy, the woman DiNozzo had a thing for? Well she's back. Her team is following up on a caller who insists that there will be a terrorist bombing. They follow the tipster into a building, with Cassidy just getting out of her car, when a bomb explodes... killing the two agents and almost killing Cassidy. She's distrought throughout the episode, blaming herself and thinking she should have died. It actually turns out that Gibbs' team was supposed to work that weekend, but Gibbs arranged for Cassidy's team to take it so he could go on a date with that Army woman.

It turns out the bombing was set up to scare away a Muslim Coalition group against ethnic/religious violence and warfare, condemning terrorism and suicide bombings and promoting peace. When it didn't work, at the very end one of the members of the terrorist group who was a mole within the Coalition group almost blows up the religious leaders of the coalition. Cassidy saves the day but sacrifices her own life, and she dies.

DiNozzo is hit very hard by her death, and at the very end of the episode he appears at Jeanne's doorstep with tears in his eyes and finally manages to tell her he loves her. Very emotional, one of my favorite episodes.
